Light like a Pinot Noir but with boysenberry tones and some minerality — 2 years ago
Deep bright yellow gold (barrel fermented?). Initially shy but inviting nose of dried apple and white pepper. Spicy medium palate confirms the palate as well as the barrel fermentation(!), adding a bit of orange candy once it opens up (still dry, tho). Moderate finish typical of the style. Gott say I thought I'd be disappointed or at least underwhelmed by this wine. Not at all. This is a really nice dry expression of the variety that's got more complexity than expected. Drink now with pork or turkey. — 3 years ago
Caves Ropiteau Frères — Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2022 — Burgundy. France 🇫🇷
Overview:
A classical, regionally driven Burgundy expression crafted from 100% Pinot Noir, blending fruit sourced across multiple villages and terroirs to build an elegant yet accessible house style. Clay-limestone soils bring freshness, lift, and savory tension, making this a textbook Bourgogne bottling that punches above its price point.
Aromas & Flavors:
Bright red cherry, raspberry, fresh strawberry, subtle floral lift, gentle spice, and a light earthy undertone.
Mouthfeel:
Medium-bodied with rounded yet lively acidity, supple tannins, and clean linear flow across the palate. Juicy red fruit stays fresh and energetic through a balanced, refreshing finish.
Food Pairings:
Roast chicken, mushroom risotto, grilled salmon, charcuterie, soft-rind cheeses, herbed pork alternatives (kosher-friendly options: turkey cutlets, mushroom-based dishes).
Personal Pick:
This is my go-to style when I want honest Burgundy character without overthinking the bottle — bright, charming, food-friendly, and incredibly versatile for casual dinners or weekday pours.
Verdict:
An excellent regional benchmark Pinot Noir delivering authenticity, balance, and outstanding value for Burgundy lovers.

Ive had my fair share of this varietal and region - this is a nice option! Round and creamy, lots of bright citrus and minerality. The salinity really brings it home. — 2 years ago

Deep gold with an enticing bouquet of green and golden apples, apricot, and subtle notes of grilled pineapple, oaky notes of cedar and charred brûlée, and some bottle age with hints of petrol and grilled meat fat drippings. Mouthfeel is rich and viscous with a palate of more green fruit of green and golden apples, notes of apricot, and hints of vanilla oakiness with a nicely lingering medium length finish. Drank it with Thanksgiving dinner; didn't eat the turkey but it went well with all the sides; even did fine with dessert. I'm confident it would pair well with the meat, too. — 4 years ago
