So here is the thing. I actually think this is a master piece. Tried over 3 days and still holding up with limited oxidation. Roussane can be big and honeyed and in a way blunt. But this one with just 12.8 % alcohol from Santa Barbara County was I assume picked early for elegance and pose. Quite burgundian in style. Tannic for a white, just a touch of honey, apples, stone fruits, touch peach, there is some herbaceous undertone - I can’t really put my finger on it. Camomilles? - with perhaps a faint whiff of mint? One could mistake this for a 1er white Burgundy. Will keep this and see how it ages! — 5 days ago

1971 vines! Way too young to try a baby wine 12.8%. So more Cote Rôtie than Shiraz. Dark and tannic, disjointed right now. Needs to come together. On the elegant side. Violets, touch Blueberries, Olive notes. Almost Burgundy like (my kind of wine) but it has this touch of California fruit. Very well made! I am sure points will go up with age - Kudos to the young female wine maker Alice. — 5 days ago

Dayum…that got to you quickly. Saw that they were shipping promptly. Took a pass this go-round. Almost took a swing at the Roussanne but so much (mostly Burgundy) inventory currently. My loss as the wines seem fun/worthy.

Think I’ve had Marsanne and Viognier from that vineyard over the years. Have likely had Syrah fruit from there at some point but it woulda been declassified and part of a county/AVA blend.

The 2023 Gamay is bursting with ripe red fruits, rose petals and a kick of dried herbs. The purity of the fruit is striking, while the 100% whole clusters are impeccably integrated.
