Tough guys made it for tough guys. Drinking while holding armour. Goooood. — 11 years ago
High alcohol but delicious Syrah with pork tenderloin ($20). Preferred Armour Heliotrope ($29) from Royal Slope Wenatchee WA. — a year ago
Olive, creosote, fennel, and black pepper drizzled over slightly unripe blackberries. Syrah, beautiful, Syrah, in its northern Rhone suit of gossamer armour. Vive La France! Vive La Terre! The rating is only due to this wine's youth; there's more here with time. — 9 years ago
This is the Armour “Je Tem” Yakima Valley Gamay Noir.
Very light magenta-tinged color. Nose has bright cherry juice, smoky crushed stone, and a hint of green tobacco leaf. Lots of flavor for such a light-colored wine. There’s a big upfront whack of crunchy cherry/red berry fruit, but it then morphs into something more minerally with a closing note of cherry cough syrup. Finish is medium length, but it’s refreshing, pure, and cleansing. Went well with our day-before-Thanksgiving Thai basil chicken. — 2 years ago

Not sure why @Delectable Wine identifies this as a “Shiraz.” It’s called “Syrah” over on these shores. 🤣🤣 notes to follow. Nose has a lot going on. Clean sweat, sweet-tart mountain berries, slightly smoky crushed rock, sweet raw beef. Very Saint-Joseph in style in the mouth, with a leaner, crisper style than many other Walla Walla Syrahs. Only 13.2% alcohol. Lightly fruity but mostly savory, mineral flavors. Crisp, medium length finish. A bit of tannin adding some scaffolding. A versatile Syrah. — 2 months ago
