This 4 year old is drinking very fresh right out of the bottle. Soft, smooth and elegant.
Needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
Easy drinking and good by itself or with food, and gets more complex as it opens up.
A good quality wine, but I expected a little more at this price point.
A great sipping wine, balanced and elegant.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
Trebbiano grapes were aged in used large oak barrels for 12 months.
12.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Splash decanted and poured; enjoyed over the course of two hours. The 1999 pours a deep, turbid ruby color with an opaque core and some rim variation; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with lovely perfumed notes of tart and ripe red and dark fruits: brambles, kirsch, tobacco, purple flowers, green bell pepper, cigar box, leather, cocoa, dried green herbs and inorganic earth. On the plate late, the wine is dry with medium, well integrated tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. To my palate, this is in a great place right now and I would expect it will hold in this drinking window for many years to come. What a lovely treat to enjoy one of Silvia’s wines with some age. Drink now through 2034. — 7 days ago
