Leeu Passant Wellington Old Vines Basson Cinsault 2017 — a year ago
Berries with a light straw mixed in. Smooth with no bite or sour notes. Excellent with Beef Wellington. — 3 years ago
New Years Eve at The Farm Restaurant, Carneros Resort and Spa. Opened some of my favorite wines: Marcassin Chardonnay, 2012 with oysters and caviar and salmon dish. Structure of wine is layered with apricot-orange, floral blossoms, lemon, cedar and vanilla. The Next of Kyn, 2013 Syrah blend paired nicely with the Wellington beef. Covers the pallet with dark blackberry, licorice and chocolate changing in taste as it opened up. Tannins still present but not over powering. Both wines deserve a 9.5 rating with plenty of age left on them. — 5 years ago
Better than a white wine this old should be, thanks to Peter Wellington and his unparalleled skill with Rhône style wines, both red and white. — 6 months ago
VOS (very old Sherry), 100% Palominofrom the estate’s vineyards in Pago de Miraflores in Sanlúcar (just 3km. from the Atlantic Ocean) and Balbaína in El Puerto de Santa María, also exposed to the Poniente winds from the Atlantic. Due to this Atlantic influence, wines from these Pagos tend to be lighter, more delicate than those further inland, and this is a great example. Delicate, elegant nose with aromas of orange peel, raisins and a hint of spices. Slightly salty (clealy Sanlúcar). Persistent, hazelnuts — 3 years ago
Packed with a number of ‘09 Wellington wines, so best guess is around that same time for the NV Duke. In any case, it held up beautifully. — a year ago
Peter sure did make wonderful wines of all kinds. His Zins are exceptional. And they age beautifully. — 2 years ago
Nicely integrated tannins, still some fresh fruits left after 13+ years. Cherries, red raspberries. Peter made wines to last. — 4 years ago

Thought this might be a bit too old. Wrong! Never underestimate Peter Wellington wines. — 6 months ago
