CVed 8/17/17. Comp with Cabot and Guigal Hermitage and Cote Rotie. Nose is definitely new world with lots of floral notes and hints of vanilla and some peppery notes. Balanced with firm body on palate and long finish with some heat. Almost sweet vs the Rhone wines. Different style. Good wine. Ranked it higher than Cabot. Again CVed 2/10/18 comp of Pax Donelan Syrah. Still yummy with nose more similar to French Reynaud. Opened 5/7/18. Not a good idea to poke twice! Nose now has sherry oxidative notes mixed with fruits. Palate however held together better though a bit of oxidation creeps in on finish. Still drinking well but not that fruit prominent style as before. Second warning on this week on careful use of CV! — 9 years ago
Killer for the money (and in general). When I think savory Syrah this is what I want to pull — 10 years ago
Lots of structure and backbone rather than fruit bomb. Excellent food wine. — 11 years ago
it's like the label says. goes great with Cabot clothbound. — 11 years ago
No one drinks enough old white Rhône. While not a great vintage, the wine was great. Lots of honeyed, nutty notes with crunchy bran, banana purée, Cabot cloth bound cheddar with an intense, lengthy bitterness (almond skin) and oily texture. The perfect cheese wine. Oak was totally integrated and supportive of the rest of the wine. — 12 years ago
Last night #datenight in our glasses Ehlers Estate 2016 Sylviane Rosé made from 100% Cabernet Franc. **Truly one of the best rosés I've ever had. ** This wine had beautiful aromas of fresh ripe raspberries & watermelon with a hint of cotton candy on the nose. On the palate, berries with a zippy citrus pop.
We paired it with cheeses, charcuterie, olives and pickles. This wine paired amazingly with ALL of it from pickled brussel sprouts to triple cream to manchego to Tuscan pork to Cabot cloth bound cheddar to Castelvetrano olives to Alpha Tolman to German salami and more! This wine stood up proudly retaining its own identity to fat, spice, salt and heat.
Find this wine, buy this wine - you won't be sorry. ❤️ #ehlerslove #ehlersestate #wine #cabfranc #cabernetfranc #rosé #roséallday #wine #winelovers #rosé #roséwine — 9 years ago

Pop n pour with the Cabot. They were very different and both spectacular — 12 years ago
Ripe Blackberry that lingers on the tongue and the structure reveals itself near the back of the mouth. Just beautiful! Had it with sliced Virginia Smithfield ham and Vermont Cabot very sharp cheddar aged 12 months — 4 years ago
CVed 5/10/17. Thought it was the 2001. Took an hour for nose to open up. Wild floral notes mixed with spicy gamey smoky bacon. Still tannic and acids on palette with long acidic and leather and biting finish. Needs time but already impressive! CVed again 8/17/17 comp with Cote Rotie Chapoutier and Calif Syrah Cabot Donelan. Same impression. A bit of lingering heat on finish. Ranked it number one. — 9 years ago
Tasting with Cabot clothbound cheddar. — 10 years ago
Cherry, cedar and cumin on the nose and palate, bright acidity, great with the pork tenderloin cassoulet, nice texture and fine tannins. Delish. — 11 years ago
