A stop for Sofia & I in 2015.

Tempranillo with this age is so soft, elegant and even a tad sweet for such a rustic varietal. This bottle has been well stored acquired from a distributor. Very little soft, mushy sediment and no bottle neck burn. Perfect fill line.

It glides onto the palate. Ripe; sweet to tart/sour cherries, rhubarb, brambly blackberries/black raspberries, baked plums & strawberries with some me hovering raspberries/blueberries. Dry-tobacco-stems-leather-top soil-crushed rocks-understated herbs-sage/bay leaf, haunting spices, incense, balsamic, sweet, mid tarriness, dry tomatoes w/ leaf, dry; dark red flowers-roses, rainfall acidity, well balanced, soft structure/tension and elegant finish that lasts 90 seconds and falls on dry earthiness & flowers.

This picked up weight as it decanted & with the Bavette Steak w/ Chimichurri Sauce. — 2 days ago

Surprisingly, bright with red fruits, anise, wild herbs on the nose. Initial fruit forward, quickly melds into new leather, stewed red/black fruit with a chewiness. Dry, medium plus alcohol, medium plus bodied, silky tannins, medium acidity. Nice finish. It can age longer, but probably won't increase in enjoyability. For the price point, it's a 👍 but not overwhelming so.

Rare wine. Production less then 3000 bottles 9 different grapes. Perfume of south fruits, yellow flowers, bit minerality, eukalyptus…various fruits in general. Bit buttery, midle to low acidity. Really good, my expectations were higher. — 3 months ago

Pessimist — Un brindis entre amigos
Probamos el Pessimist una tarde cualquiera.
El vino abrió su alma como nosotros la nuestra: oscuro, profundo y un ligero toque dulce de sinceridad.

Al servirlo, su color "chicha morada", denso y casi misterioso como las mejores conversaciones. En nariz, fue un abrazo de moras, ciruela, un toque de vainilla y esa nota ahumada profunda que parecía venir de alguna historia que ya habíamos vivido.

Al probarlo, todo se ensambló con naturalidad... la potencia del Syrah, la dulzura del Zinfandel y la estructura del Petite Sirah fusionaron nuestras personalidades en la mesa.

Taninos suaves, redondos pero con la firmeza justa que te envuelve el paladar sin imponerse. Vino con carácter, pero sin arrogancia que supo acompañar mientras hablábamos de la vida,
y celebrar.

Pessimist no nos pareció pesimista... nos recordó que el tiempo bien vivido se mide en copas compartidas, y que algunos vinos, como algunas amistades, se sienten mejor cuando se dejan abrir con calma! — 6 months ago
