ask the wine guy for something unusual, something off the beaten path and he recommends this delicious dry 100% Palomino w/some bottle age: definitely a food wine, light greenish straw color w/fairly austere nose full of minerals, lanolin, herbaceous musk, white flowers (jasmine), ginger & some spices. on palate it is rigid & angular, zesty acidity, some citrus but mostly minerals & herbs, quinine, screams for briny foods - we had this w/deli section fare & salad. — 9 days ago

Red fruits on the nose with light oak, chocolates and vegetable notes.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, light oak, spices, vegetables, herbs, dark chocolates and black pepper.

Showing nice complexity and easy drinking. Good by itself or with food.

Will not get better from this point, though.

Wine of the Year by WS in 2020. Revisiting this jewel is magical. Wine is aging incredibly well. Showing secondary and tertiary characteristics. The tannins are becoming fine grain and velvety. The fruit even more consentrated. — 11 days ago
