“Swan Song” vintage for 2480 Hollywood & Vine Cellars. Winery closed & last vintage 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Was introduced to wine by Rick Webster -Owner Rolf’s Wines Newport Beach with the 2002 Vintage. He stated at the time in 2004 that the 2480 H&V CS was the best wine in his store under $100! Celia Welch got some of the Old Vines Block of the JJ Cohn in 2002! Bought it for many years many vintages @ $82. QPR! Sad to see it go! Cheers 🍇🍷👍🏻👏🏻 — 4 years ago

Great start to our long weekend in Napa. Lindstrom is made by Celia Welsh, a superstar winemaker in Napa. A great nose of bluefruit and spice. On the palate I get really nice flavors of blueberries, dark currants, cocoa and baking spices. The tannins are ultra-sleek and very nicely integrated with the acidity. This wine is very drinkable today but most likely ages for another decade. Paired nicely with our Porterhouses. — 8 years ago
2013 vintage. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot. AVA Diamond Mountain District, Napa Valley. 24 months French oak (74% new). Consulting winemaker Celia Welch. Dark red with a hint of purple at the rim. Graphite, slightly jammy black fruits, spices and flowers in the nose. Layers of dark juicy fruit, fresh acidity and a firm, but rather soft tannic structure. Mineral finish. Surprisingly generous and supple for a Diamond Mountain cab. Very good indeed. Growing in the glass. — 9 years ago
I’ve been fortunate to have tried a few vintages of Scarecrow, but have never had the opportunity to sit down and simply enjoy a bottle from start to finish. I acquired this 2012 with that exact intention (and also to share with my father-in-law, who is the reason I have a passion for wine).
A hallmark for Scarecrow (in my opinion) is a weightless gravitas. How Celia can craft a Cabernet that is consistently so elegant and supremely balanced is beyond me. 2012, being an excellent Napa vintage, and entering its 10yr age had me thinking this would be pop and pour…wrong! Lots of youthful exuberance here. More red/black than purple in the glass. Slightly high toned dark-berry fruits, currant, floral notes (violets) and graphite. The entry and mid-palate again have this gorgeous weight…added notes of dark cocoa and espresso, but mostly a balanced core of dark fruits. The finish sports quite a grip (even after two hours), but it sure was fun to still taste the wine almost 30 seconds later! Decant 2hrs if opening now, or hold for another 5-7yrs to enjoy this type of profile. — 4 years ago
