Bright medium ruby , perhaps a little more ruby on the rim than the Clos de la Dioterie . More sweetly fruited , with more red fruits than dark , spiced cherry , strawberry, raspberry , rose , roast red pepper, cranberry. Quite rounded tannin , balanced acidity . On the palate mixed summer fruits with strawberry , red cherry with good density, quite juicy but well balanced . Roasted pepper , spicy cherry , wet slate infused finish with medium length. This probably will improve over the next 5 or so years and last well a further 5-8 — 19 days ago

So good to be drinking this bottle again… the 2014 vintage was what started my obsession with French Bordeaux’s year ago. Glad to report this is still a fantastic bottle! Fruity and well balanced. So I guess this is a Gamay from the Rhône? Didn’t know such a thing existed but this is the best “Rhône” I’ve had in a long time - mostly bc it’s a Beaujolais through and through - classic muddy/cloudy consistency, intense fruit on the nose. Only issue is that it’s still very sparkly on the palate, so definitely needs a few more years. Or a very long decant. Tons of potential — 9 months ago
