This is the claret served by the Royal and Ancient St. Andrews golf club. Nice balance between light and full bodied. Very drinkable. — 8 years ago

Full body, note of pepper — 2 years ago
Decanted for 1.5hrs, but really opened up after 2-2.5hrs. Initially muted but as more time elapsed notes of black cherry blackberry followed by mushrooms, dominant dark earthiness and leather. Appropriately balanced acidity along with medium tannin that lingered well. Really nice! — 4 years ago
2008 vintage. Bernaleau family (also owners of Haut-Médoc Château de Braude and Moulis Château Galland). Situated in Arsac between Château du Tertre and Château d'Arsac. Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (around 70%) with Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Great effort in a difficult vintage. Dark red with orangy rim. Cassis, flowers and cedar wood. Textbook elegant Margaux. Drinking beautifully without the harsh tannin that characterises many 2008s. Lovely and nice value. — 3 years ago

Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (72%) and Merlot (28%) and is this chateau’s “second label.” Deep ruby color. Bright red fruit, wet soil and dried rose petals fill the nose. Full bodied with smooth tannins and a medium length finish. Same red fruits on the pallet with hints of exotic spices and tobacco. Strong value. Thank You Ron B! — 2 years ago
