2022 vintage. Hervé Alins is the 3rd generation of winemakers at this Côtes de Bourg estate. He has been in charge since 2014 and this 2022 Merlot, from a selected plot, and aged in egg-shaped vats represents tremendous value for money. Juicy, succulent fruit, with good concentration, soft tannin and very good length. Serve this blind to Bordeaux bashers. Abv. 13,5%. — 2 months ago

10 years of aging (oops lost in the cellar) has treated this 2011 surprisingly well it has lost the smoky notes I tasted a couple years ago and in its place is an earthier blackberry red currant which is quite pleasant. Still has a great silky mouth feel. I decanted this for 2 hrs, tasting every so often and I'm not 100% sure when it was drinking it's best.
