Château Liot

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend

2014 vintage. What a wine! This vintage combines abundant botrytis with exceptional freshness. Intense perfume with fresh pineapple, honey and lemon confit. Impressive depth and complexity, with layers of both fresh and dried exotic fruit, balanced by extraordinary acidity, keeping it juicy and elegant. Very, very long too. Even at twice the price this would be incredible value. Ab. 13,5%. — 2 months ago

Barsac White Blend 1975

1975. Easily wotn. Almond, shredded coconut, hints of stone fruit. Barsac's lower sweetness suits me very well. Only complain a bit short. Buy. — 10 years ago

Château Liot

Sauternes

2010 vintage. Technically a Barsac, but sold as Sauternes ( Barsac being the only Sauternes commune allowed to do so). Much deeper, more evolved colour compared to the 2010 Guiraud (in half bottle!) tasted alongside. Intense perfume with wild apricot, roasted pineapple, and caramelised nuts. Richer than the Guiraud, this is a very impressive effort that is definitely of Cru Classé quality. Superb value too. — 2 months ago

Château Guiraud

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2010

2010 vintage ( half bottle). Looks fairly young, compared to Liot 2010 tasted alongside. But it suffers from the comparison in nose and taste. Less abundant and complex than both Liot 2010 and Guiraud 2009. Good, but not as good as expected. — 2 months ago

Saint Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Vintage 2012 / very classic true to type #saintestephe with earthy and mineral tones in smell, as well as red summerfruit and cedar. Gave it an hour in the decanter and afterwards the taste is smooth, juicy and very quaffable. Rich wine with noble characteristics. #bordeaux Paired it with entrecôte and later with gruyère cheese. — 6 years ago
