Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Chardonnay 2020

Delectable Wine
9.5

The 2020 Chardonnay Sanford & Benedict Vineyard emerges from the original parcel of own-rooted vines planted in 1971. Crushed rocks, sage, mint, citrus and white flowers lend nuance to a bright, airy Chardonnay that is all understatement. The 2020 is not an obvious wine, but for readers who enjoy subtlety and nuance, this is very hard to beat. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2022)

Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021

Pretty light medium ruby , wide pink rim. Lightly spiced , strawberry and raspberry , quite sweet. On the palate this has a slightly more savoury element , with some raspberry , red cherry hints and a touch of toasty , herbal notes . Balanced acidity and light tannins , ok length and a star anise tinged finish . Drink now and over the next few years . — 9 months ago

Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2019

Very nice with a quick decant. Fruit is very Sta. Rita Hills but shifts into mineral and saline elements. Amazing quality from such new vines. 2019s I’ve had from this coastal area of Sta Rita Hills are all excellent. (Chanin, Tyler, Sanford) — 3 years ago
