Drank 5/16/19. Sparkling wine tasting event. Tasting pour.
Nose of lemon, green apple, and a hint of brioche on the nose. Delicate mousse, with green apple and just a hint of toast. A delicate style, but quite enjoyable. Again, I enjoyed this a touch more than I did at past tastings

Excellent and well-balanced champagne, amazing notes of lime and Quincy, not so leesy but decent level of yeasty, enticing mouthfeel and not so overpowering finish. Another master piece by Liz Tellier (winemaker). — 2 years ago

Training for Reims this summer. 2nd oldest champagne house delivers. Crisp and bright, light strawberries and minerals. Would drink again. — 7 years ago
Hardly anything noticeable on the nose. One unique thing about this wine is the dominant alcohol throughout the palate, even the lingering alcohol like hard liquor. — 8 years ago
Apple and pear nose, maybe a bit of honey. Pure gold color. Soft taste, brioche-y. Yummy. — 7 months ago

Champagne Tsarine – Gold Brut – N/V
Champagne, Reims – France 🇫🇷
Overview
A refined non-vintage Champagne from one of the historic houses of Reims, crafted in a balanced and elegant style. Tsarine Gold leans toward finesse rather than power, offering a polished expression with fine bubbles, harmony, and approachability. This cuvée reflects classic Champagne blending presented through a modern, luxurious lens.
Aromas & Flavors
Delicate aromas of ripe pear, white apple, subtle citrus zest, and soft brioche notes. The palate follows with gentle orchard fruit, light creaminess, and restrained yeast character, clean, precise, and well integrated.
Mouthfeel
Fine and persistent mousse with a silky texture. Balanced acidity, smooth mid-palate, and a refined, delicate finish. Nothing sharp or aggressive, very composed and elegant throughout.
Personal Pick Highlight 🍷
This is a Champagne I’d confidently serve when elegance and balance matter more than power. Ideal for guests who appreciate finesse over intensity. A great choice for refined aperitif moments or light, elegant pairings.
Food Pairings
Excellent as an aperitif or with oysters, sashimi, crudo, soft cheeses, or simply prepared seafood. Its finesse allows it to complement rather than dominate food.
Verdict
A well-made, elegant Champagne that delivers balance, finesse, and consistency. Not a contemplative or power-driven cuvée, but a beautifully polished Brut that overdelivers on drinkability.
Did You Know?
Tsarine is produced by Chanoine Frères, founded in 1730, making it one of the oldest Champagne houses. The “Gold” designation refers to the house’s regal identity and presentation rather than sweetness level or extended aging. — 6 months ago
