Interesting wine. Light golden, a bit fleshy, but restrained salty/austere at the same time. A bit wooly/waxy. A bit oxidative? Zero chance you’d guess this an Albariño/Godello blend from the Sierra foothills. My mind actually went to Rhône. // edit: this improved significantly on day two. Just opening my last bottle of this gem, which I have savor end for years. One of the best zins I have ever tasted. With age reminds me of Côte Roti or even Chateauneuf du Pape. Sweet dark cherry, plum with pepper to balance it all. — 9 years ago
