Nice Chianti great with a spicy pasta dinner! — 9 years ago
This Italian IGT from Central Tuscany is truly a great representation of Merlot and Sangiovese blend is all about. What a great combination, this wine opens up with a unique aroma of red fruits, baked dark cherries and chocolate. Very soft tannins, smooth to the very end. Long but over lingering finish. Loved its balanced acidity and mouthfeel. — 3 months ago
Easy breezy Sangiovese red. Very enjoyable. — 5 years ago
While in Florence I drank this and I thought it was great . Firm tannins and pretty good front to back . — 9 years ago
A fan of Morellino di Scansano, nice Sangiovese from Tuscany, loved the cherry and cranberry notes and taste with a slightly hint of tangerine, which makes this red a more acidic that the usual northern Tuscany ones. It is warm, approachable and super easy to drink. It’s already in its prime time. Lovely. — 3 months ago
Delightful fruited nose with full bright stone fruit. — 4 years ago
Not as fruit forward as our Sonoma county reds it has nice, soft tannins and maybe a little tobacco? — 8 years ago
Fruity, but not too fruity. Good acidity. $10.99 at the Italian Store — 9 years ago

This is nice. Blind I would have guessed Chianti Classico. The nose shows cherry, oak, tar, autumn leaves, black tea, coffee beans, a bit of meat juice. The palate is juicy and silky, with a nice cherry note shining through and through, some oaky touches, some meaty, savoury notes too along with that black tea thing. There is width, there is some matter too, and the silky mouthfeel turns into a massive tannic wall in the rear, that disrupts completely the entire mouthfeel. The finish is long, cherry and meat juice forward, sliding upon a nice, drying tannic layer for a good while. A tiny bitter note shows up in the very end. This is serious stuff, pretty classical in style when I compare it with chianti classico examples that I have tasted. I like that ! — 2 hours ago
