Jurançon très fruité — 8 years ago
2020 vintage. Nothing to be found about this "Vignes de Silène" on the website of the famous Jurançon producer Domaine Cauhapé. Probably a supermarket only label, but it's gorgeous and cheap (8 euros). Pear, green apple and floral notes. A very round mouthfeel , but also crisp and juicy. Very good length. Terrific value. Try with the local Mont Cayol cheese (tastes like something in between a Tome de Savoie and a Parmigiano). Abv. 14%. — 4 years ago
First thing I notice is the golden color. Very floral, white flowers, can smell the green stem of a flower. Smells very hot, with mineral/shell/slate. Also smells sweet, honey suckle, and butterscotch. Must be oaked at least slightly. Tastes hot, high acidity, citrus notes/grapefruit. Very juicy as well, in guava, pineapple, tropical fruits for sure, and green grapes. Also low mouth feel, aka thin, but it is refreshing. I've never tried either of these grapes and really enjoy it. Pretty complex and tasty! — 8 years ago
Less sweet but like a light ice wine — 12 years ago
matured fruits flavours and beeswax, waxy texture making heavy first impression. but slight bitterness, spiciness, and high acidity lift this wine.
nutty flavor add the further complexity, supurb wine! — 4 years ago
Apple pie, raisins, sweet. Great dessert wine with tart desserts — 8 years ago
Dessert wine from the southwest of France. A little lighter than Sauternes. Quite nice. A little tropical fruit, banana and pineapple. Dulce de leche. — 12 years ago
