60% Grenache; 30% Syrah; 5% Mourvèdre; and 5% Cinsault. Aged in tank. Stewed fruit and floral notes on the nose. Red raspberry and red plum, with mineral, spice, sage and chewy tannins. Wine has a zesty saline note. — 5 years ago

Nose: very nice garrigue suddenly evident: time, rosemary, stew meat; then red/black berries – clearly smells of steak! (in a good way)
Palate: bright and smooth tannins with good acidity. Medium body. Good acidity. Good balance of everything of the previous.

Another fine value from Cahors. This has a bit more oak than last night's offering, but tastes more Malbec-y. Leans towards New World. Medium tannins, acidity in place. Enjoyable.
