Robert Biale often makes Zinfandels with surprising finesse and energy. They’re delicious and sexy and well balanced. If you don’t think Zinfandel is worth drinking try any of the Robert Biale versions and let me know if you’ve changed your mind. — 6 days ago
Loved it. A very restrained and aromatic version of Pinot Noir. — 6 days ago
Garnet with orange edge. Gentle and elegant aroma. Fresh initially, 1.5 hours, stabilized. Forest floor. Spices. Special fruitiness with passion fruits like. Taste is gentle sweetness first. Rounded. Medicine like aroma as well. stimulated to my brain. Robert Groffier Pete & Fils 14 @1900/G(18000), Fred, 241102 — 20 days ago
The 2020 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru is clean and precise on the nose: an enticing mélange of red and black fruit, briar and a touch of aniseed. The palate is sapid on the entry, with wonderful vivacious red cherries and strawberry fruit laced with white pepper and allspice. Real depth and mineralité flood through on the (again) aniseed-tinged finish, completing an impressive wine. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2024)

It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Red and black fruits on the nose with wild flowers, earth, light wood, garrigue, spices and coffee.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, currants, cooked cherries, light cedar, earth, fresh herbs, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf and peppercorn.
Nice length on the finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 5 year old Merlot from Napa Valley is drinking nicely now. Feels like a Right Bank Bordeaux.
Earthy, nicely balanced and complex. Loved the nose here.
Robert Parker 91 points.
Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and show the complexity.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, and will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.
100% Merlot grapes were aged in (33% new) French and American Oak barrels for 18 months.
14.3% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
