Duval-Leroy

Femme de Champagne Grand Cru Brut Champagne Chardonnay Pinot Noir

Good, but not my favorite. Very different from the Ruinart we had before. Much darker in color and significantly more tannins. — a month ago

Francis Blanchet

Vieilles Vignes Pouilly-Fumé Sauvignon Blanc

Flint, pear, and green apple. Crisp and bright. Not a ton on the nose but lovely on the palate. — 9 months ago

Plexus Shiraz Blend 2019

[45% Shiraz, 32% Grenache, 23% Mataro] Rich, ripe dark and red fruits, nicely balanced, ripe tannins, drinking very well tonight, medium-long finish, very good, and should age another 5+ years! — 2 months ago

Concilio Barossa Valley Grenache Shiraz 2021

All Grenache (no Shiraz). And delicious. Really finds the sweet spot between ponderous, massive global-warming CDP and those people trying to do light picnic Grenache that should be chilled like fruit punch. Nose has kirsch and raspberry ooze, along with dank minerality. Nice flavor intensity in the mouth, but with little flab. Rich fruit quickly turns savory. Nice length and the balance between acids and tannins is well-struck. Should have gotten more. — a year ago

I have been very impressed with how Barossa is embracing Grenache and creating some amazingly flavorful fresh, medium bodied wines.

Femme de Champagne Brut Champagne Blend 1996

Drinking well. Slightly sherry / honey but less than you’d expect for the age. Solid bubble but lacks the complexity of its pairing — 3 years ago

Réserve Brut Champagne Blend

The Duval-Leroy Brut Réserve Champagne displays precise aromas of yellow apple, fresh lemon, brioche and roasted almonds. Medium to full-bodied with firm acidity and a long finish, this is a very crisp and lively Champagne. Drink now. — 3 years ago
