Azienda Fratelli Pighin was founded in 1963 when brothers Ercole, Luigi and Fernando Pighin acquired a 500-acre estate in the D.O.C. Grave-del-Friuli zone. Straw with full fruit and floral aromas. Pop and pour. Cork came out in 1 piece with a Durand. Lovely aged gattinara. Soft blood orange peel, dried rose, soft leather and a hint of medicinal herbs. On the palate: acidity still very much alive: leathery sour cherry, barbecue, mint and soft, but still grainy tannin on the close.
