Un nez assez peu expressif car le vin était trop froid au départ mais le nez s’ouvre un peu en réchauffant avec des notes de fruits blancs, de poires, de menthe.. La bouche est magnifique, une belle classe, une bouche toute en finesse et élégance tout en ayant une belle tension sans être tranchante, un vin avec un équilibre exemplaire et sans aucun excès et une finale délicieuse de belle longueur. 92-93.
A moderately expressive nose in the beginning as the wine was too cold but then opens up more with white orchard fruit, pears, some floral scents and a touch of mint. The palate is amazing, complete, so well balanced, fine, elegant, classy and with just good backbone and tension without being too crisp, great length and delicious finish. — 4 years ago

Robe qui est quelque peu orangée, au nez on sent un peu le tertiaire, sous-bois, sol mouillé mais le fruit sort apres quelque temps dans le verre. En bouche les fruits sont toujours en retrait. Les notes tertiaires sortent, un peu de chauffe, acidité tres présente du début à la fin, la finale est un brin décevante. Pas certain que le vin s’améliorera dans les prochaines années mais quand même il y a pire à boire!!!😜 — 5 years ago

Nez et bouche sur les fruits jaunes surtout, du menthol et moins typée Chablis ou Droin, la bouche est agréable, ronde, assez riche, la tension n’est pas tranchante ou pas autant typée que l’on pourrait s’attendre d’un Valmur GC. C’est bien mais sans être grand. 89-90
A nice bottle but not to GC level and not typical of Droin. Yellow orchard fruit, some menthol, round and rich, tension and acidity a bit low and non typical. — 4 years ago

Saumur Cabernet Franc 2018
Simple, light, but full of charm. Clear purple dress, beautiful shine. Nose typical of the cabernets-francs de Loire. Raspberry, geranium, violet, blackwood, green pepper (but not too much). The mouth is fresh and tense, with a beautiful mineral weft reminiscent of rifle stone, slate or chalk. Served at 15 degrees, it’s a nice treat.
Saumur simple, léger, mais plein de charme. Robe pourpre limpide, bel éclat. Nez typique des cabernets-francs de Loire. Framboise, géranium, violette, bois de ronce, poivron vert (mais pas trop). La bouche est fraîche et tendue, avec une belle trame minérale évoquant la pierre à fusil, ardoise ou craie. Servi à 15 degrés c’est une belle gourmandise. — 4 years ago

Garnet-tiled, murky, deep dress.Clos de Gat is an area of Judea in Israel. With two hours of aeration, the primary notes, generous very ripe and animal fruits mix well with the notes of aging and spices. We are not far from a Cornas or other wine from the North Rhône with the intensity of the Israeli sun. The notes of evolution go perfectly with the bouquet.
Robe Grenat-tuilé, trouble, profonde.
Clos de Gat est un domaine de Judée en Israël. Avec deux heures d’aération, les notes primaires, généreuses fruits très mûrs et animales se mêlent bien aux notes d’élevage et d’épices. On est pas loin d’un Cornas ou autre vin du Rhône Nord avec l’intensité du soleil d’Israel. Les notes d’évolution se marient à merveille au bouquet.

Flash decant this time as usually I open up the “Reynaud wines” a few hours in advance. We started drinking slowly but right away the aromas were very expressive and they opened up slowly to reveal multiple layers of red fruit, spices. I can discern some Grenache to my Burgundian palate but brely, the wine is powerful but approchable at this toung stage, nice freshness and great texture of tannins with an impressive length for a “vin de pays”. 90-91
Ouvert et donné un petit coup de carafe sans ménagement, nous avons commencé à le boire lentement. D’habitude j’ouvre plusieurs heures à l’avance les “vins Reynaud”. Un nez typé avec cette signature tellement envoûtante, expressif dès le départ et a continué à s’ouvrir avec le temps, des fruits rouges de toutes sortes, des épices, plusieurs couches d’arômes s’y développent. La bouche est très fraîche, une trace de Grenache à peine est décelée à mon palais très Bourguignon, le vin est assez puissant mais avec une telle fraîcheur et texture de tannins qui en font un bel ensemble très approchable, même s’il est encore très jeune. Une longueur impressionnante pour le rang et toujours un rapport qualité/prix fort avantageux. 90-91 — 4 years ago
