Zoom tasting with a 2014 Napa theme with the WNH @Shay A @Mike R @Eric LaMasters @Ron R @David L @Shawn R @Carl Fischer @Joe Lucca...on 3/22...this event was non stop laughs and went a good 3 hours. Such good times. The Greer was drinking phenomenally in its youth. Gripping tannins give way to an ethereal core of black cherry, cedar and dark chocolate. It’s as close to Scarecrow in profile as any wine I’ve had. This will only get better. — 5 years ago
Your mama’s vineyard has a sweet smell. — 5 months ago
Cloudy by design. Muted nose which gave up a wisp of lemon, grass and hazelnuts. On the palate, it shows restraint and balance. Soft mouthfeel, with delicate acidity made this an all round excellent experience. This will sail on in the cellar for at least another 5 years.
Superb virtual tasting event with WNH crew. Thanks @Carl Fischer for making it happen 🙌 — 5 years ago

Beautifully aged spätlese, seamless and smoth, lightweight but rich and long, such a treat 🥳 — 3 years ago
When you’re in the smoke (London), white burgs are front and center. @David L, @Bill Bender, @Shay A, @Mike R, @Joe Lucca, @Carl Fischer, @Eric LaMasters, and @Shawn R would wet their pants over this. Killer expression of burg. Regal, pristine and focused. Extends and expands on the palate. Head-spinning presentation - Chelsea, London. — 5 years ago
Finally getting around to posting wines from my annual Napa trip from two weeks ago. Always goes by quick! Lots of fun new stops this year.
Here is the other wine that I claimed may have been the red wine of the trip, and also may have been one of the top winery visits of the trip! Loved tasting in the family home and hearing the connecting stories between them and the Macdonalds. I’ll forever be grateful that @Carl Fischer introduced me to Detert years ago, and he helped make an intro so that I could visit this time around.
Monster! This is like the normal cab franc but with everything turned up to 11. However, because it’s cab franc, the elevated profile isn’t overwhelmingly fruit forward...it just makes it so floral. Potpourri, violets, jasmine accompanied by herbal spice, black tea, mulberries, dark chocolate and cedar. Zero trace of green pepper. Very vineyard loyal. As old vine To Kalon cab franc, this has classic To Kalon power with currant, graphite, vibrant black cherries, clay/dirt, red, blue and black berries with skyscraper like structure and profile. Very fine grained tannins. This is an astounding cab franc. — 5 years ago
