2021. Haven’t had a Foppiano in a long time (my wife and I enjoyed visiting the winery on our honeymoon 3+ decades ago!), so I picked up a bottle to have with grilled flatiron steaks tonight. @Brian Hearty, I haven’t been to Foppiano since the early 1980s, I do remember seeing something in some wine magazine about how good this 2021 is, sounds like you’re confirming that!!

Foppiano is an O.G. petite sirah producer, who unfortunately saw a precipitous decline in quality recently. The old stuff is still great though and is as ageable as anything. This is still big and black as night, but the tannins are starting to fade a bit. Still has the stuffing to go another 20, but it's great right now and is taking on secondary characteristics that most PS's never quite pick up. — 11 years ago

They have to be one of the only wineries making Petite Sirah in Russian River. That wine was probably released that $12- 14 dollars a bottle. Bravo, Matt.

I’ve been very lucky to try some 25+ year old Petite Sirah over the last year and am very impressed with its aging potential, particularly on the complexity of the tannin. It really does thrive in cooler climates.
