Les Perrières Bourgogne Pinot Noir

Beautiful color. Burn copper around the rim. Nose of pomegranate, tart red cherry, dusty minerals, dry dirt, old cellar. Dusty tannins dry out the mouth quickly. Really delicate and quickly fading acidity. Palate has the dusty minerals, sand, tart red fruit, tree bark. The tannins tell me wait another 1-2 years, but the acidity says drink. The drying tannins hide the palate a bit. — 3 months ago

Montée de Tonnerre Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2010

Nice but not quite at the level I was hoping. Maybe a bit past its prime? Quite a deep yellow in the glass. Lots of body. Has a bit of a pronounced lanolin quality. Would not have guessed Chablis, doesn’t have the acid or cut. Was hoping it would come together more on day 2 but never quite got to where I was hoping. — 5 months ago

Not the best showing for this wine. The 14.4% was really dominant tonight — 4 months ago

Sea Slopes Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

Everything a good Pinot Noir should be. There are subtle fruit notes but still a medium body wine that hold up well. Note the alcohol content is 13%, which for a Cal wine seems low. Kudos to the winemaker for making such an impressive wine without bumping up the alcohol content. FYI, the 2021 was a Costco close out in the San Diego area. — 5 months ago
