Mid Ruby in colour. Initial aromas of red and black fruits particularly raspberry and also whole bunch notes. Rich and sweet on the palate with plums and cherries finishing with smooth tannins. Fruit for this Pinot was sourced from the Coal Valley, East Coast and Channel sub-regions of Tasmania - the latter adding that richness like you see in Home Hill Estate. — 6 years ago

The Boomer Creek Rosé offers a well-balanced expression of the style, standing out with its harmonious structure. One wouldn’t think of Australia when looking for a fine Pinot noir. One also wouldn’t think it comes from one of the coldest environments for Pinot noir but Tasmania is far south off the coast of Australia. This tastes like it could come from New Zealand. Very distinct and very fine. — 7 years ago

Our final lunch in Cairns last Sunday for the boys weekend away. A wonderful lunch at the Salt House on the Cairns waterfront. No formal notes. Pepik is the 2nd label of Josef Chromy from the East coast of Tasmania. Red fruits on nose and palate with a little white pepper. A good match with the superb seafood curry. — 4 years ago
