Sequoia Grove

Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

This really leans into the darker aspect of Cab. Dark cassis, loads of dark crushed stone, baker’s chocolate, dark iodiney savory notes. Intense in the mouth, but with surprisingly nice acids for its 14.9 frame. Rich, but bone dry. Still tannic, but it’s soft. — 8 days ago

Reserve Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 1994

Opened a couple hours prior to service and enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 1994 “Estate Reserve” pours a slightly hazy garnet color with a near opaque core and some rim variation; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears and some sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and desiccated dark fruits: cassis, black cherry, green bell pepper, tobacco, potpourri, old leather bound books, beef broth, and organic dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium (integrated) tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose with the addition of pomegranates. The finish is long. ABV is 12.5%!! This is about as old school as it gets and I’d be tempted to call this Left Bank Bordeaux if I was blinded. Wow. Drink now…but will probably live for another 10+ years if stored as well as this bottle (perfect). — 3 months ago

Sequoia Grove

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Medium/Pale lemon color with aromas of stone fruit, floral, spice and citrus. On the palate apple, melon and peach flavors, with lemon zest, vanilla and toasty cedar notes. Nice balance with bright acidity on long creamy finish, savory with spicy rich oaky mineral ending, very nice! — 15 days ago

Cuvee Cassaneas Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay 2021

An utter masterpiece

Nose: white and yellow flowers.

Palate: bright. Elegant citrus. Mineral. The echoes of framing oak. Utterly delicious. The mathematical limit of what you can do with sub 1er cru grapes. Wow ! Silky sweet lemon fruit.
