What a pleasant gose! Lively, frothy and full of energy! Lime, tangerine, rhubarb, mild grapefruit, green strawberry and grape Bottlecap candy. Tangy rhubarb and slightly riper strawberry blossom on the palate with a dry lime finish and a briny mesh that blankets the mouth in cozy, lazy afternoon comfort. It is literally the polar opposite of the label, which features a scary freigeist ghost‘freespirit’, and a seemingly haunted tower/monument in shadow. I’m sure there’s irony baked into this! Have a ghostly good time in the hot sun...or hell. — 6 years ago
A very pretty nose. Cherries, bramble blue fruit, real lift. That haunted pretty burg thing. On the palate very clear and precise. Quite blushing soft fruit with delicate acidity. Improving in the glass. Really exceptional — 8 years ago
Wow. Gorgeous elegant fruit on the nose. I swear it smells like fruity spatlese for a second there. Orange, cream, minerals, and so delicate and elegant. Really haunting aromas. Gorgeous complexity. Wow. Really just divine aromas. Earth, cream, citrus and minerals. Really just a stunning nose but super refined and subtle. 9.5 nose. Palate is elegant and refined and man is this delicate and elegant. Yes, elegant. Acid is a bit less than 2019 but this is so lacey and delicate. What it lacks in that 19 energy it makes up for with its haunted delicacy and laciness. Mouthwatering and long. Compact. Ethereal. Good depth and concentration. Really mineral as it airs out. — 3 years ago
Good. Not bashing me over the head with flavor and not too tart. Not haunted by ammonia — 5 years ago
It really is hard to find a light red wine outside of France and Oregon that has so much going on. I first had this wine 12 years ago and it’s haunted me ever since. This reacquaintance did not disappoint. — 7 years ago

This wine has haunted my dreams— shared with friends on New Years Eve and didn’t jot down my tasting notes, but I remember it being wildly full bodied and juicy. — 5 years ago
On the nose; dark currants, light tarry notes, blackberry, black raspberries, black plum, plum, black cherries, black licorice, stones, dry loamy soil, dark rich earth, cinnamon, vanilla, dark fresh flowers and fields of violets.
The body is full. The palate; rich, ripe & fresh. Tannins are round, velvety, soften some but still very big & pronounced. The structure & tension are very solid, the length fantastic &well balance. Fruits are; blackberry, black raspberries, black plum, plum, black cherries, creamy raspberries, black licorice, sweet tarry character, soft leather, fresh tobacco leaf, graphite, stones, dry loamy soil, bramble, dark rich earth, cinnamon, vanilla, dark fresh flowers and fields of violets. The acidity round and well executed. The long finish is ruby fruit balanced earth, sticky tannins and beautiful polished finish. Still fresh and wonderful now but much better in 15+ years.
2015 was a very good year Puente Alto. This could very likely see a higher score after 8-10 years more of bottle ago.
Photos of; the old residence, another stone art piece in one of their main tasting areas, Cabernet vines meant for visitor tasting this time of year and the Diablo barrel room where the Don Melchor Cabernet is stored. The barrel room was once robbed long ago. Since the Urban Legend story it was haunted was floated out to the public, it has remained safe and sound. — 7 years ago

Great pumpkin offering as usual! Pie crust and pumpkin pie spice offering on the nose to appease the gourds; orange pekoe celestial reflections. Cinnamon stick whittled for whipping, and nutmegs just made for licking. Great taste for a knife carved face of caramelized pumpkin! Naysayers be slain. Haters haunted, Geeks begouled, Smarms smitten. How else can you mark the seasons in Florida? Bring on the jacked-up-juices! #halloween #pumpkin #pumpkinbeer #dogfishhead #dogfishheadpumpkinbeer #dogfishheadpunkinale #punkinale #seasonalbeer #gourdbrew #iwillslapyouintothanksgivingifyousmacktalkjack — 3 years ago
