Great with shrimp dishes. Very citrus forward. Very refreshing. Frankly would be great on any hot summer day. — 2 years ago
Lots of oohs and ahhs, wait, what is this?!? Ooooohhhhh. Cheers and Merry Christmas! Last of this vintage for me until I hit lotto but the first of the flight for the night. — 3 years ago
Flight 2 , wine 1 . Quite deep garnet , less terracotta rim . This had a whiff of oxidation about it at first which seemed to somewhat dissipate with time . Some dark spiced fruits , liquorice and menthol hints , cedar and sous bois . On the palate good ripeness and spiced dark cherry hints . Good acidity and rounded tannin . Nice length also , offering some spiced black fruits and menthol hints . Don’t think this is a pristine bottle but was enjoyable none the less , I was unsure at first if this was Napa , but coming back to it … and reading my notes , it became quite obvious . However I had this down as the Ch Montelena , not the Dominus — 2 months ago
This was my wine of the night. Heavy oxidized style, nutty components on the nose that seamlessly transposed to the palate. Moldy yeast components, almost beer like yellow color. Sherry like taste sometimes. Just a jaw dropping wine that blew the other champagnes in the flight away by miles 🚀. — 3 years ago
1.5 hour decant(some fine/cloudy sediment). A majestic dark purplish garnet color. On the nose: dark fruit, smoke, herbaceous, forest floor, truffle. Taste: smooth, rich, layered mouthcoating wine with dark cherry/plum, smoke, earth, mocha Java, and a black pepper graphite slight astringent tannin medium plus finish. YUM! — 10 months ago
