Homer Dry Rose - excellent. Best served slightly warm. Dry, flavorful. Definitely a repeater — 9 years ago
To celebrate our 2-yr wedding anniversary while in Alaska, we had 5-course dinner at one of the premier spots in the state, which just so happened to be at our resort (at the top of the mountain). A Wine Spectator recognized restaurant with an incredible wine list!
A bit of a "homer" wine for us, as it lined up with our normal taste profile. Ah, the Caymus of old! Though a fruit bomb compared to the french red before this, there is no jamminess/over extraction here. The fruit has mellowed out and merged with the spice, herbs, and secondary notes. Cranberry is the dominant fruit here currently, and this has probably 3-5 yrs before it starts its decline. — 9 years ago

Great nose and bold first taste, but it's age causes it to fade fast and lose power. That being said, a Jose Bautista homer in the 10th for a 2-1 Jays victory over the Yanks makes up for it! Yeah, that was meant for you my friend and unfortunate Yankee fan, Mike Walker!! — 11 years ago
Okay I'm a bit of a homer on all these Kistler wines. I admit it. This 2012 cuvée Kathleen was my favorite when I tasted it out of barrel year before it was bottled. I have not tasted enough cuvée Cathleen until tonight. There are oily aromas. There are also aromas of stone fruit and some citrus. Very complex integration of oak is evident . This is a wine of profound concentration. This is a real keeper — 12 years ago
The calm before the storm (move out day!)
Succulent aroma. Big on the apricots in a good way. Wildflower honey. Citrus and the acidity of a good white balsamic. A cornucopia of tropical fruits.
Mangoes. Dry. Reminds me of an unripe, green mango. The type that’s really great for sangria. This, too. This would be a great base for an orange sangria. Would take really well to tropical fruits and strawberries.
I don’t really understand the hate/ indifference in the other reviews. Sure, it’s not a grand slam, but it’s at least a triple, maybe an in-the-park homer.
I like the dry quality and how it plays with the fruitiness. It’s a welcome flirtation.
CAUTION: Extremely drinkable. — 6 years ago
Subtle notes of mocha waft atop a spongy cloud-like cappuccino-colored head replete with bubbles of varying size and a sycamore silhouetted lacing. Dark chocolate malt balls plus cocoa pods inform olfactorily. Bitter chocolate, black mocha, chocolate cereal, vanilla bean, burnt cinnamon stick, burnt toast urge you back to the sweeter chocolate notes as the bitterness escalates to peppercorn-esque with chicory. Not for everyone, but coffee heads will appreciate the pine tar walk off homer! #stone #stonebrewery #stout #americano #imperialstout #beer #beer — 9 years ago
Had this on Juliette and I's "first date"...so the experience may be clouding my judgement, but we both remember this being really good. Pretty bold and a little spicy. I'm definitely a Michael David homer, so.... — 11 years ago
Said in my Homer Simpson voice: “mmmm Kistler Stone Flat Chardonnay....” - cloudy hue / canary yellow diamond in color; apple seeds to the nose, alcohol, barely noticeable oak; smooth and almost caramel candy taste. — 6 years ago

I'll save you some reading; I am a homer when it comes to this winery, so if you want to disregard my review I understand. But this winery is doing it right. And they've planted ungrafted Margaux rootstock. I won't lecture, but that's kind of a unique deal. The wine itself is ridiculously lively for a wine nine years old. Sumptuous dark fruits, black earth and hints of tobacco, mint and decaying violets (in a good way) greet the nose. The palette is both refined and fresh. Silky, silty tannins blend with stewed and tart fruit, along with a solid backbone of earth. It's going to be a challenge, but you really should try and get a bottle from this winery. — 10 years ago
Had this in Buffalo, NY at this stand out Italian place. The plate two back on the right wasn't even my food but you can see that remnants of a dope ass summer corn risotto. Really incredible. The wine was fantastic as well. But I'm a huge Barbera homer, so maybe this is skewed. Maybe a realistic 9 but for me personally it was great. — 11 years ago
