I love this savoury wine. But I can't help but think it would be better with less merlot. At 50:50 it feels like the wine doesn't quite marry. More Sangiovese and perhaps a touch of cab sav or franc and we have ourselves a real supertuscan — 11 years ago

Sting's wine...bought for 16 bucks as a "what the heck, why not". Year is 2009... The bottle doesn't say which grape varietals are used but I'm going to guess there is a good percentage of merlot (?) as it has a really smooth mouth-feel. Lovely wine! Very harmonious IGT from Tuscan hill south of Florence. The blend composition; Sangiovese, Merlot and Cab Sauv., which provides an interesting and unique complexity. Dark cherry, raisins, dates on the nose, pleasant acidity and perfectly balanced. Soft tannins and medium dry. Long but not overly lingering finish. Quick fact this wine is from Sting (the singer) vinyard. Great job! — 2 years ago

A personal fav for #chianticlassico This wine has rustic cherry color tones, with an oily sheen.

Aromas of damp earth, robust cherry with stems and brambly herbs.

Palate is light chalky cherry, piercing acidity and dusty tannins.

This is an excellent wine! When Sting wrote his iconic "Message in a Bottle" he sang of the universal human need to connect. With aromas of cherries and wild blackberries (and you can taste it) the bottle says it goes most perfectly with friends, loved ones and convivial conversation so send an SOS to someone to come and share it with you! This is actually from Sting's Tuscan vineyard at Il Palagio. Highly recommended! 🍷👍😊 — 10 years ago
