Cabernet Sauvignon

Must be aerated! Totally different and MUCH better. Nice dry tones perfect with a nice filet. Dry to the palette and a smooth finish. Some dark cherry. Works for me! — 25 days ago

Herman Story

White Hawk Vineyard Syrah 2022

This is a layered narrative of dark fruits, a dash of black pepper, and that unmistakable hint of smoky earth. And undeniably funky. It’s not just about boldness; it’s about a refined grit, a raw elegance that speaks of rugged vineyards and uncompromising craftsmanship. — 2 months ago

Barbera

Oddly enough had to go to Ohio to drink Ca grapes. Solid Barbera. Let it sit for a bit and when it opens , dam. That’s a good wine — 3 years ago

Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Wine 2 at aunt Paula’s house. A little more acidic than I like but a very round, buttery aftertaste which is nice. — 4 months ago

Black Kite Cellars

River Turn Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2016

Cherry and black pepper on the nose, with a hint of menthol (eucalyptus). More spice than fruit. And OMG. Gorgeous! Not sure if the alcohol content , but it seems higher. Fully flavored, silky mouth feel. More of the cherry with raisin, and again lots of spice. A winner!

After breathing a bit, getting strawberries and some cedar on the palate, along with the aforementioned cherry and black pepper. This is almost 15% alcohol, and it shows. I feel that the alcohol content competes with the luscious flavors, and would have been much better with lower alcohol, but California winemakers love their powerhouse wines.
