La Fleur Montagne

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin

Vintage Brut Champagne Blend 2012

Tasted Dec 2024.

Zesty, uncomplicated champagne that fared well as a toast to the year that’s been.

Nose : slight oxidation.

Palate: mineral and acidic. Get some lemon fruit as it opens. Some almond.

Comtes de Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne Chardonnay 2013

Working is always better with Champagne. Deep acidity, bright citrus notes, racy on the palate, and a lasting finish. Cheers. — a month ago

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin

Yellow Label Brut Champagne Blend

Pale gold with fine bubbles. Blossom, apple, pear, tangerine, lemon, brioche, and toasted almond. Dry, medium body. Well-balanced acidity with a crisp, medium-plus finish. You can find this stuff almost anywhere these days. But I must say, I still like it.

Nice - love magnums, especially for wines with modest origin. It creates surprises.

Mags also really slow down pace of ageing I think. This one felt fresher than one could expect from a ‘12 Lalande.
