Adequate Spanish white (Godello) from Galicia for afternoon treat at Cala Sant Vincenç on Mallorca, Spain — 2 years ago
Recommendation from Pam - really enjoyed it, needed time to open up but once it did it was delicious. Dark fruit, medium tannins, black tea — 3 years ago
Wowza, this really over-delivered for $20: inky no sign of age on rim, effusive dark fruit, brooding ripe black & blue berried mingled with spices, cocoa, dried herbs, minerals, hoisin - blind I would have guessed Mourvèdre from Southern France. Great extract & density of flavors on nose & mid palate, cut a broad swath, smooth rich, finely grained tannins balanced seamlessly. Bit less acidity than Mencia from Bierzo, but enough for the smoked ribs devoured alongside this gem. — 3 months ago
Red fruit profile, hint of blood, fine expression of mencía, refreshing, long and easy — 3 years ago

Combined with risotto. A smooth red. — 3 years ago
Blend of Mencia, caiño and bastardo (aka merenzao or trousseau) from biodynamically farmed vineyards in Mandin (Monterrei, Galicia’s smallest and least known appellation). Whole-cluster fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Dark ruby color. Quite pleasant, slightly rustic nose with aromas of dark fruit, some herbal (eucalyptus?) and earthy notes. Fresh, quite dry on the palate, some cherry flavors, high acidity — 4 years ago
