Lightning

Lauge Jean & Fils

Mas des Capitelles Vieilles Vignes Faugères Red Blend 2021

Red to dark red fruits, cherry, raspberry and pomegranate, garrigue, and singed black schiste stone/mineral notes, lavender florals too. The palate is medium bodied, with intense flavors that are lightning it's feet. I am a fan of Faugeres wines and it's rare for me to try a new one like this one. — 5 months ago

Sur Le Sentier du Clou Saint-Aubin Chardonnay 2014

To quote my wife, "little lightning bolts of happiness." Insane good. Couldn't ask for more from a white burg. In a perfect spot. — 4 years ago

Coup de Foudre

Lightning Bolt Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Beautiful wine. Silky, slightly smoky and easy to drink. So often you hear fruit forward, it is not. Fruit on the end makes it juicy and happy. 😎🍷🇺🇸 — 5 years ago

Delicious BC Pinot from the Canyonview Vineyard. Strawberries, hay, mushrooms and earthy notes surround the palette. Love Lightning Rock wines…small vineyard who take extreme pride in their craft. — 3 years ago

Cuvée Marie Chinon Cabernet Franc 2012

Very quaffable, but still impressive, showing the elegance of cabernet franc - blackcurrant, herbs, charmingly farm-like (not much, though, it’s no brett-monster at all). Acidity like lightning through the dark fruits, polished tannins. Pretty much perfect. Magnum bottle. — 5 years ago

Anjou Chenin Blanc 2018

Like drinking lightning bolts ⚡️ Ripe green pear, white peach, tart citrus, zest and pith, citrus blossom, tea leaves, crushed chalk, a layer of spring honey just barely. Tense on day one with electric acidity. Day 2 showing more aromatic complexity and a kiss of breadth on the palate. So much acid and rocks. Day 4 still fresh as a daisy — 5 years ago
