This is not a Ribera del Duero (that’s Tempranillo territory and I’m not a Tempranillo guy). This is Ribera del Jiloca, and this is a relatively structured Garnacha. Nose is a bit reticent at first but then reluctantly gives up pure raspberry and tons of crushed rock powder. In the mouth it’s lean but flavorful, with stony flavors and fruit in equal measure. Acids and fine-grained chalky tannins to frame everything. Nice, length, and a really good weeknight value. — 2 years ago

Destinos Cruzados was another winery that I tasted the whole gamut at the Peñín Best of Spain show and was unimpressed by, there has been some press and some mentions of this winery and I expected more and cleaner wines than I found. This wine seemed like it was the inexpensive wine of the winery and it turns out it wasn’t so inexpensive after all.
