Interesting cool climate cab led Aussie Bordeaux…think I left it too late to drink it, best at 5-7 years given freshness in winemaking style? — 9 months ago
Wonderful wonderful expression of Chardonnay from Mac Forbes clearly on a great site and judicious winemaking. Wish I’d decanted for longer as the flavours just kept developing... — 5 years ago
Perfect fruit and earth balance. No heaviness on the palate. The nose is very Loire. — 6 years ago

I just opened a 2006 and the nose alone blew me away and congrats Mac & Leslie the owners you guys rock see you soon. #stoneedge — 8 years ago
Delectable told me I drank this exact wine 4 years straight after it had been bottled.
4 years later and my love was rekindled.

Light cherry red in colour. Cherry and raspberry together with a jubey confectionery note on the nose and palate. On the palate “bigger” than your normal Yarra Valley Pinot. Winemaking Notes: 10% whole bunch, partially de-stemmed - a portion foot stomped. Open fermenters - matured for 12 months in old oak. Indigenous yeast; No filtration, no fining. — 3 years ago

My favourite Cotes de Bourg wine & after having the yummy 2010 & 14 recently I wondered if a 19 year old top vintage @ £98 would hold well & yes it sure didly 😉 88 points from Parker 🤣 but not worth it’s hefty price tag 🤑

2016. Smokey Hollow. Old Mission Peninsula. What a very pleasant and enjoyable surprise. This was a light tart and refreshing wine. Light golden color and light citrus aroma. A little sweetness and apple flavor that went very well with an eclectic dinner including ribs with Carolina sauce and red pepper, Pa Dutch sweet & sour Mac salad m, bok choi and kimchee. Tough menu but the wine came through with flying colors. Really very good! — 8 years ago
From magnum. A well balanced well made medium bodied Cabernet from Mac Forbes in the Yarra Valley. Some vegetal notes to the red fruits but in balance and easy to drink with a Waygu Porterhouse on the 23rd with relatives from the UK. Probably at its peak. Bought back in the day as we have a son named Hugh who is with us from NYC and like many of his contemporaries has given up drinking! — 6 months ago
Nose: bright cherry but more dense.
P: not as bright. A bit dusty.

Great rich Syrah nose & finish A memorable wine. — a year ago
Hey, Delectable— this is the Visions 2018 North Coast Pinot, but the ID wasn’t available.
Unabashedly ripe and warm, but with a distinctive umami flavor (hoisin sauce?) that I’m really digging. Black cherry, black plum and even blue fruit on the nose and palette. Lovely satiny texture. Medium + finish.
Hedonistic in the way you’d expect from a winemaker mentored by the Wagners, but the suppleness and umami notes make this wine stand out in a sea of north coast Pinot Noir, and the absence of new oak lets the fruit do the taking. Perfect with chicken lettuce wraps and haricot verts smothered in Madeira mushroom cream sauce.
Owner/founder, Mac Macdonald, has been making his own California Pinot Noir for more than 25 vintages now and it shows. Side note: he’s also one of the better story tellers in the biz.
Initially sampled as part of a tasting with the #AAAV (Association of African American Vintners) and took the bottle home.
