Dog Point Vineyard

Section 94 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2019

A bit reductive/flinty. Textural, mineral. Not giving up much fruit. High acid. Thankfully none of that cheap NZ gooseberry or cat piss. Pretty nice now with food. I think it I’ll save my next bottle until 2026. — a month ago

Dog Point Vineyard

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2023

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc is light in body but dense in concentration because of low yields. It's almost silvery in color and restrained due to hand-picking, leading to pure grapefruit, passion fruit and nectarine, all delivered with focus and punch. The finish is long, precise and sinewy. $23.00 (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, July 2024) — 3 months ago

Arley's Leap Pinot Noir 2014

Barrel selection from Arley’s Block of Abbey Ridge Vineyard. Planted to Martin Ray clone. Simply, OR PN does not get any better.
PS/named for the owner’s dog who survived a 2 story jump.

ONX

Mad Crush Grenache Blend

Excellent blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Tempranillo instead of Syrah. Works very well. I saw this described as “dusty fruits” which I take to mean earthy, and just slightly subdued. Relatively smooth and opens up nicely with air time. Will keep the other bottles for a while to see how the evolve. Another good effort from ONX wines out of Pasa Robles. Cheers — 4 years ago
