Smooth, not fruity, not acidic, and a taste of oak that you can’t but like, great wine — 4 years ago

Pinot-Noir (66%) and gamay (34%) blend, both gourmet and sophisticated. The nose, marked by aging, evokes Burgundy by its toasted-cherry-vertical side, while the gamay would recall Beaujolais on strawberry-vegetable, jovial, floral and peppery notes. It's accessible, crunchy, with chew (not or little filtered) it pinote on a wide arotic range. The approach of a real friendly wine, with a solid final.
— 3 years ago
Now we’re talkin— must have had at least 3 or 4 bottles prior to this, & they were all mute. Completely expressive now. Light sunshine vermillion color in glass. Wild red raspberries, fine tannins, medium, soft acidity. Floral & those fruits on nose. From a producer I hold complete faith in, happy the reward came ( his Chardonnay is my catnip). I did not decant. The question remains: were they bad bottles or just in a ‘dumb’ phase? — 5 years ago

Inspired to drink a wine from the Jura after today’s Tour de France stage. Really good example of a non-oxidative style of savagnin that still retains some depth and a touch of nutty character. Lemon curd, lemon verbena and touch of alpine herbs — 3 months ago
