Even better with lamb. Intense earthiness (reminds me of good Aglianico but austere like a young cab franc), touch of barnyard, framed by a graceful body with finer tannins than the nose would lead to believe. — 2 years ago
Sweet and spicy! — 5 years ago
Deep mahogany, smells of figs/plums. Tastes like cherries. Very sweet — 7 years ago
A dark ruby color a nose of cherry's and currants. Sweet but not too cloying a good acidity for balance. It taste like a port I love it. It is the first dessert wine beside port that i like. — 8 years ago
Delicious, perfect with citrus and olive and mint. Reminds me of a Cote de Nuits. — 9 years ago
Delicious white. Beautiful minerality, balanced acidity - fennel, lemon, grapefruit, pear, green almond. Hint of honeysuckle, — 3 years ago
Vintage 2017 | Zacharias is one of the oldest wineries in Nemea, founded in 1960. Made from 40% agiorgitiko, 40% merlot and 20% mavrodaphne. 12 months aging in partly new barrels. Dark colour. Minerality in smell, vanilla and spicyness. After aeration the wine gets a velvety structure, cherries. Paired with gurnard and ratatouille, plateau of cheeses. Goed well: red wine and fish... — 5 years ago

Sweet yet smooth, this black laurel fortified wine is almost port like in its taste and strength. It is not necessary to save it for an after dinner treat though. Very well enjoyed on its own, even better with mellow cheese such as Gouda or a medium Cheddar — 9 years ago
Vintage 2019 | Venison steak with mashed carrots. What to pair with it? I had six bottles in my hands and decided this Greek wine from six years old. When young you often do not know what to expect from a wine, the older you get the more you get a trained taste and can choose safe choices. But I like the surprises and the fact I am not aware what to expect. This red has a rich nose with cedar (6 m barrel aging), chocolate and spices. Cherries in taste with a hint of raspberries, quite strong ánd still quaffable. Chocolate in taste too. It makes my day. Fine website from producer but it does not give the grape variety (mavrodaphne?). — a year ago
Lots of flavor, juicy dark fruit with an earthy/mineral backbone. Well structured and excellently balanced, ripe while retaining nice acidity with a soft grip. — 4 years ago
I must say this Greek red is turning me to try as many Greek wines as possible. Utterly beautiful and elegant, layers of fruit and spice. Pretty much perfection. — 5 years ago
A unique natty style Greek wine from the grape Mavrodaphne, which is typically used for sweet reds. The Orgion is bone dry but riddled with notes of sweet aromas - vanilla blackberry, red rose petals, milk chocolate, and balanced oak. It has a medium body with medium plus acid and fully integrated plush tannins. The flavors remind me of steakhouse desserts. Ripe plum, blackberry, boysenberry, chocolate ganache, and vanilla. — 8 years ago
Breads, buttery, medium acid. Sits on the lees for an extended period of time. — 9 years ago

A super interesting wine, virtually fruitless, with copious amounts of dried herbs and nice minerality.
Firm, medium tannins, fresh acidity, nice balance & depth. Very food friendly (think moussaka). A good one! — 3 months ago
