Second Chianti at the CdA dinner, and the most aged, but I didn’t love it - overly tannic, too much edge on it — 2 months ago
Easter Dinner — 8 months ago
Medium ruby colour , ruby rim. Quite fresh and slightly spicy on the nose , violets , red plum , spicy blackberry and some redder fruits also , cherry and raspberry, freshly cut herbs . On the palate more strawberry and raspberry notes , with cherry tart , herbal hints . Quite fresh and dusty tannins and good cherry and blackberry , saline tinged finish . Needs a bit of time , maybe another 5 years , will last well for a further 10-15. Promising , well balanced and elegantly made . — a day ago
This is the La Casuccia CdA which wasn’t in the Delectable lineup - my third favorite of the CdA dinner - see the Montebuoni and Bellavista notes. Note that we also tasted the ‘07 La Casuccia but didn’t love it - actually seemed to have some funk to it — 2 months ago
Paid €45 for the bottle at Osteria Del Pavone. Marco was the wine captain and his recommendation was excellent! It was a delightful Chianti - rich and full! we would get it again. Price was reasonable for a Restaurant. — 5 months ago
“Montebuoni” Chianti Classico Riserva gets its name from the vineyard Castello di Ama cultivates in the western sector of the Gaiole UGA. Popped and poured; the 2019 “Montebuoni” CCR pours a bright ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of mostly ripe red fruits: Morello cherry, black tea, some leaf tobacco, new leather and soft vanilla baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and quite charming, if not a touch flashier than I’m typically attracted to. Lovely nonetheless. Drink now through 2034. — 24 days ago
Considered the star of the CdA lineup, and similar to their chiantis which all have some Merlot blended in, but this was too much Merlot for me - had that plasticity I don’t love — 2 months ago

Pale ruby in color. Aromas of cherry, smoke, and spices. On the palate, it’s fruit-forward with well-balanced acidity and tannins. The higher ABV stands out for a Pinot Noir. Drinking well now despite its young vintage. — 19 days ago
