Your perfectly balanced buttery char. Buttery but still has some crisp green apple notes. Easy and fun to drink on a summer day. Pairs well with lobster or buttery biscuit crackers. Overall really well rounded. — 6 months ago
This was one of the red wines I served for my annual WWC hosting, alongside a 2016 Pellegrin Gamay, 2017 Chacra CyC, and 2015 Force Majeure estate Syrah.
As all wines are tasted blind, I totally get the guesses of Cayuse-like Syrah. The 100% whole cluster use here is undeniably distinct. For the most part, it seems to be a love it or hate it style (I love it). By the time we all got to this, it had been in the glass 1-2hrs. Deep purple, with massive stemmy/green aromatics that hit you in the face. Wintergreen notes, too. On the palate, it’s funky, herbal, spice driven notes wrapped around underripe blackberries and rhubarb. This is a floral, savory, spicy Syrah at 8yrs that seems crazy youthful. Likely hangs in this window for a while. Bravo, Mike Smith. — 3 years ago
Drier than expected. Not a ton of tannin, but otherwise good — 2 months ago
The “King of Chardonnay” Mike Grgich farms w/o pesticides and certified organic. Aged 10 months, no MLF. Medium lemon color with aromas of stone & citrus fruits. On the palate flavors of apple, pear & lemon citrus flavors, with honeysuckle, vanilla & toasty oak notes. Nice balance with acidity on long finish with a toasty mineral ending. Not your typical CA Chard, very nice! — 3 months ago
Mike Smith should be knighted. — 3 years ago

Great red blend, especially for the price. Great flavor but still light. — 4 months ago
Nice loooong finish! Citrus, white florals, and apricot. Yum. Picked up on our 5th wedding anniversary trip to Russian river valley ❤️ — 10 months ago
The dark color will blow you away even before the nose and palate. Nose tells you this is going to be a deep and heavy full body cab from Mike Smith. Palate is amazing, fruity (did not get the blackberry some have mentioned) and the finish is nearly creamy/buttery. This one would go great with a nice stick from Cuba or Dominican Republic too, love it. — 3 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Pale yellow with pleasing aromas of citrus and tropical fruits, adding in spice and some biscuit notes. On the palate complex palate of flavors, fresh fruit, pineapple, lemon, grapefruit, peaches and Asian pears. Slight earthiness with a smooth and creamy well balanced finish ending with a gentle yeasty character. Very nice! Consistent quality! Will age well! — 10 days ago
