Mokolumne River, Central Valley

Dry River

Martinborough Pinot Noir 2017

The colour is a quite pale Ruby. Red fruited (cherry) aromatics with Sous Bois. Light to medium bodied but with M plus intensity. As Bob Campbell MW said this wine has good vinosity (or Pinosity if you prefer). Pinots like this and Ata Rangi, both from Martinborough , challenge the Pinot dominance of Central Otago and Canterbury in New Zealand. — a month ago

Phantom River

Sauvignon Blanc

This Sauvignon Blanc has enticing aromas of citrus followed by crisp, concentrated flavours of tropical fruits with hints of lime, leaving a long, lingering finish.

Good to serve it with smoked salmon, lobster dishes or even Caesar salad.

Estate Grown River Junction Viognier

Lovely to pair with a dish that has ricotta, or blue cheese, as I did. It was lightly acidic, but a delicate sweetness takes over before you even notice the acidity. The last notes are a simultaneous experience of honey, melon and citrus. These notes last before gracefully dissipating, but are amplified when paired with the right dish! A 10 all-around for myself and the other individual experiencing this treat! — 2 years ago

Domaine Vacheron

Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2021

High acidity and intensely mineral.
This tastes like wet river rocks and farmers market greens.
Could drink this all day!!

Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir 2016

Great Pinot from great region…Russian River Santa Lucia Highlands from where many fine Pinots evolve. Agree with the pros and the guy who lists about 47 flavors out of this wine…wow, wish I had his taste buds but it may be a nuisance (he must be a chef or a herb farmer)…what a palate! My tastes are more prosaic…a big elegant Pinot, deep dark berry, legs and full flavored, full-bodied yet velvety smooth, perfect balance with a few hours of open…bought by all the surgeons and lawyers…one of the very top Pinots… — 2 years ago
