100% Verdeca. (Native Puglian white varietal that originated in Greece.) Bright straw gold color with a few green highlights. Aromas of tropical and stone fruits, wild herbs and white flowers. Flavors of peach, pineapple, mango and lime fruit with additional flavors of chalk and those wild herbs. Medium plus mineral based finish and medium body. Colour: almost no transparency, dark red - violet
Nose: fresh and concentrated nose of red and black fruit: raspberry, red berries, plums, and hints of figs - after a while some Mediterranean red spives coming through, and a violet-red flowers note as well.
Palace: very nice acidity (quite high) perfectly balanced with nice tannins, that are rustic but not without elegance. Good structure and balance, Very refreshing and drinkable.

New year, new wine (no. 2): Italian grapes in North Fork, LI. Dark, brambly fruit, intensely flavored, floral and earthy undertones, lots of structure. Last vintage ever, though, as the winemaker’s calling it quits after a zoning fight (the region is in full backlash against encroaching urbanity, which the proliferating wineries have come to represent; Suffolk Co was - still is? - Trump country. I digress...) It’s great, experimental wine for an often cautious region. Stock up while it’s still around. — 9 years ago
