Dark and intense colour
Vanilla gooseberry dried meat moccha
Soft on the palate silky still some soft tannins and acidity needs food. — 7 years ago
Red, resinous currant with a licorice twist. Warm blackberry, dark toast, vanilla, cedar and sweet tabac seamlessly tailored, even at such a young age. Fresh gingerbread oven, too. Silk suit of tannins; loose stitching. Wound tightly showing sinewy potential and a Christmas cactus of sutured fruits bursting at the seams with liquid graphite and black currant reduction with fresh cassis and olive berry. Violets, treacle and black tea. Onyx train of a witch bride all the way down Howell mountain! #Dunn #DunnVineyards #napacab #napacabernet #Napa #howellmountain #howell #howellmtn #mountainwine #cabernetacademy #cabernetday #cabernetsauvignon #californiaclassic — 8 years ago
The absolute richest espresso with equally seductive vanilla, rice pudding and cinnamon, grilled mesquite block and smoky oak encircle the garland. Coffee reduction bordering tar and burnt maple. A sweet charcoal note pervades, and ensconced within a silky and smooth nest of tasty gourmet coffee, shines brilliantly! An onyx dream. — 10 years ago

This is weird, but if you read NK Jemisen’s Broken Earth series, and you think about the all-powerful onyx obelisk—that’s what it feels like I’m drinking. Overwhelming in every way—Big, bold, ripe, boozy. But balanced and smooth and soft like velvet glove. I just fall deep into the glass and wanna stay there. The dark, juicy fruit — a blackberry/blueberry cobbler comes to mind—lingers forever. — 5 years ago
Near onyx center to crimson rim. Chocolate and leather aroma. Big velvety, dense, coating fruit with a spice trail. Mainly black with a rich red cherry punch. Awesome. 78% Cab, 22% Merlot sources from Ink Grade, Stags Leap District, Yountville, and Oak Knoll. Michele LOVES it. — 9 years ago
Onyx with a scarlet rim. Pure earth and leather. Wonderful balance. Explained as a Bordeaux style. Exceptional round mouthfeel full of sharp red fruit and spice - big and pointed with a long tingling finish. Wow. — 9 years ago
This wine begins with dark cocoa, roasted pepper, and pine. a bouquet of charcoal , myrrh and kindling incense sticks flicker with flint at the nose - smooth river rock & warm silver nickel nap on the tongue blanketing the edge of any tannins. Sweet candied yams with cinnamon, butter, and cherries begin to bake & marinate the headspace of the glass an hour in. An amazing blend of flavors this onyx purple gem should be experienced first hand. — 11 years ago
Blinded. Thought it was Cote Rotie. — 12 years ago
Full bodied fruit forward. Mild/no tannins. Big plum and black cherry. Good stuff. — 3 years ago

Velvety in the mouth, tannins are completely softened. Jammy blackberry, tar and smoke. Balanced despite a 14.4+ alcohol. — 7 years ago
— 9 years ago
Dark cherries, apricot, strawberries, opens easily, medium-heavy body, delicious — 12 years ago
