Hibiki 21 Years Old Blended Whisky

A little bit of madness as I wanted to drink this very rare bottle. Definitely worth getting « lost in translation » and very very good while more structured / less smooth than the traditional hibiki. Is it worth it or just speculation? I’ll let you decide for yourself — 2 months ago

A hint of Murcott mandarin, a touch of white pepper, caramel and cinnamon. Go with the 12 yr if available. The price is shocking! — 4 years ago

@Aaron Tan I had to go back and reread my Tasting note. It certainly was good. Just spent 10 days in Scotland and had a great visit to Glenmorangie Distillery in Tain. As per James Forsyths recent tasting note I was amazed at the different barrels their malts get matured in - from Sherry to Bourbon - even Sauternes.

Just wonderful, caramel oak notes, cold smoke on the nose.
Japanese Whisky is at a high point in the market presently, if you bought early (5-10Y ago) you're sitting pretty now 😉

Bone-Jolly El Dorado County Gamay Noir

As a 41 year old bald celibate vegan in Bushwick, I shed one long tear just now thinking back to that summer in 2002 when I was teaching ESL in Osaka and followed the Japanese punk band YuraYura Teikoku in a Volkswagen EuroVan with my then Japanese girlfriend and her semi-erotic manga collection. — 5 years ago
