The Prisoner Napa Valley Zinfandel Blend



Blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, & Charbono. Deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe berry fruits and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and plum with cacao, baking spice and vanilla. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and tobacco notes.

Inspired by “mixed blacks” first made by Italian immigrants originally settling in Napa, blend of Zinfandel, Cab Sauv, Petite Sirah, Syrah & Charbono. Deep Ruby aromas of berries and complex spice. Aged 30% on new oak, combo of French/American barrels. Palate shows big flavors of cherry, blueberry & raspberry, bold spice lively acidity, vanilla & cedar notes, good balance. Fine tannins, long finish. Nice, drinking well, still can cellar. Note, ‘17, bigger & bolder than ‘16.

Good to taste the 18 vintage. Powerful blend as always, layers of fruit and dark chocolate. Smooth finish.

Good blend just like previous vintages. Lower rating because I think the wine hasn’t integrated enough yet and needs at least two more years of rest.

Delicious wine for special occasions. Dark fruit with leathery end, lingering finish, strong but well integrated tannins. Very smooth, tastes like a crisp late-fall day. BlackBerry, boisenberry, raisin, and leather.
