Had it at Jahan when Pilar & I visited my mother. — 4 years ago
Very nice syrah. Well balanced, nice lingering finish. Lots of fruit on the nose. Fruit forward in the pallet. Although high in alcohol it doesn't drink that way. It isn't hot in the least. — 4 years ago

Warm berry cream smooth at end. Surprising Spanish garnache. Got from Pilar and Luis in 2018. — 5 years ago
Natty umbria white that has probably gone through skin maceration. The colour is golden orange, think bourbon cask matured single malt scotch. The nose is wild and a bit funky, with a bit of sulphuy notes, orange peel, honey, apricot. The palate is showing some acid drive but it's not acid driven. There is some width, some matter on the sides, some lemony, orangey notes, a bit of phenolic grip in the rear, disrupting the mouthfeel and leaving a drying layer over an orange peel, lemon peel and apricot/honey finish that goes on for a while. If you are into natty, skin contacts, wild whites from Italy, this is your stuff. If you don't care for that style look away. I like it! — 4 months ago
Flagship white by the amazing Pilar Higuero, one of Spain’s most exciting proponents of biodynamic farming and the unofficial “lideresa” (leader) of the Spanish vignerons association “Artisan Wine Attraction.” The wine is named after the traditional children’s game “a pita cega” (“blindman’s buff” in English, literally “the blind hen” in Galician language) and the tools used to clean up vineyards in this spectacular biodynamic farm: a flock of chicken (Her red wine labels, on the other hand, feature the sheep used to graze and fertilize soils). Blend of mostly Albariño, Treixadura and other indigenous varieties, fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and aged on its lees for 20 months. Very expressive, complex nose with aromas of apples, white fruit, fennel, floral notes and minerals. Medium to full bodied, round, sumptuous on the palate. Lively, fresh, vibrant, good acidity. Amazing wine ⚡️ — 4 years ago

Second take of this umbria light red a few months after. And I still love it. The nose is showing strawberry and raspberry, a bit of gun powder, a bit of flowery thing. It's actually more complex than I remembered. The palate is acid-driven, with nice raspberry and wild strawberry touches all along, a big nice width, a good nice mouthfeel that becomes tannic in the rear, changing completely the mouthfeel and powering a surprisingly big and complex finish for such a light-coloured red wine. It's fresh, textural, drying with caressing tannins, fruity and there is almost a tiny salty note in the rear. Perfect summer quaffable, chillable red Italian red. — 16 days ago
