Château Clos de Sarpe

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

Football & Steak 🥩 wine. Didn’t realize this winery goes back almost 100 years. I see some 1937 out there still.
Parker 96.
Even at 20 years old it needs a 2nd day 3 hour decant.
Parkers review,

189, The Wine Advocate

Readers who require immediate gratification will dislike this wine, which is one of the most concentrated behemoths and tannic blockbusters of the vintage. This is very much in keeping with the proprietor’s intention to make wines such as they made in the 19th century, and ones that can last 50+ years. Still young, with plenty of noticeable new oak, this 2000 tastes like a 3 to 4-year old St.-Emilion. Plenty of barbecue smoke, graphite, blackberry, and plum characteristics are present in both the aromatics and flavors of this broodingly backward, massive monster. While fascinating, it is not for everybody. I originally gauged its maturity to be around 2010, but I would push that back to 2015-2040+.

Opus One

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2007

Bottle 2,000 on delectable.
Had to go with my favorite opus. Parkers original score of 95 is a moot point now. I wish I had kept more of these instead of flipping on auction a few years ago.

Tan Fruit

Dux Vineyard Chardonnay 2019

The nose is definitely a 98, but it needs years to drink,
Parkers 98 point review as follows,

The aromas of the 2019 Chardonnay Dux Vineyard are alluring and savory, with ripe peach layers, beeswax, roasted almonds and pastry. The palate has a singular satiny texture and impressive concentration, enlivened by tangy acidity and streaks of graphite and finishing with tremendous length and energy. Wow!

Tan Fruit is a brand-new project from Jim Maresh, proprietor of his family winery, Arterberry Maresh, and the winemaker behind some of the most exciting Chardonnays in the Willamette Valley today. Much of the fruit for the Arterberry Maresh wines are sourced from older estate vines, and very few cases are made each year. In 2019, Maresh founded Tan Fruit, for which he will purchase fruit. "I hear about fruit for sale that I'd love to play with," he explains. "It doesn't work for Arterberry, but for Tan Fruit, there are no rules." He made six cuvées this initial vintage, and unsurprisingly, they are some of the best Chardonnays of 2019. The first set of Tan Fruit wines will be released sometime in 2022, and I hope to be first to sign up for this mailing list!

Riserva Giatl Alto Adige Pinot Grigio 2016

Typically not a Pinot Grigio drinker, but had to give this a shot after reading Parkers review. Probably the best one I’ve had.
Notes from K&L

The 2016 Pinot Grigio has really nice concentration, ripe apple, and peach stones, with hints of lemon peel and wet stone and can feel the barrel ageing on this wine. Full-bodied, with a good grip and a long, memorable finish, great for just sipping on in the evening or would love something with a lot of spice or just a long straw.

Regusci Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Just a notch below the 16,
TRB made wines. With more air this would really shine, 2-3 hours would of been perfect.
Parkers review, he has it a 96 as well,

Very deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 “Regusci Vineyard” Cabernet Sauvignon features beautiful ripe plums, black cherries and dark chocolate with suggestions of red currants, black raspberries and spice box plus hints of Sichuan pepper, underbrush and pencil shavings. The full-bodied palate is full-on decadent, featuring rich, velvet-lined black fruit and exotic spice layers, accented by red berry and earthy notions and finishing with great length and depth. 130 cases were produced.

Torrin

Akasha Willow Creek District Syrah 2012

👍🏼
Parkers review,

Wine Advocate | Rating: 96
The 2012 Akasha (which I had incorrectly listed as James Berry Vineyard in the past) is 100% Syrah from Scott's estate Torrin Vineyard. It offers sensational purity and depth in its black raspberry and cassis fruits, graphite, dried violets and crushed rock bouquet. This gives way to a full-bodied, voluptuous and seamless Syrah that has no hard edges, building tannin and a blockbuster finish. It's a heavenly Paso Robles Syrah that needs a year or so

Vinous | Rating: 93
Glass-staining purple. Powerful, deeply pitched aromas of blackcurrant, violet, licorice and woodsmoke, with a peppery topnote and a hint of sassafras. Sweet, smoky and broad on the palate, offering intense black and blue fruit flavors and a suave floral pastille flourish; showing a lot of upfront, fruit-driven sex appeal and no rough edges. Finishes very long, with outstanding clarity and supple tannins. - Josh Raynolds

Villa Del Lago

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Del Dotto Pritchard hill, it’s ready to go almost pop&pour

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Villa del Lago is a huge wine endowed with tons of class and personality. It shows fabulous intensity from beginning to end, with layers of dark fruit that build effortlessly towards the big, enveloping finish. This is a dramatic, large-scaled wine bursting at the seams with personality. I loved it. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023.
